I have been hearing remixes of "You're My Heart" by Lioness left, right and center these days. Lioness is a Canadian indie dance band, formed in January 2007 in Toronto, with the former rhythm section of controller.controller Ronnie Morris and Jeff Scheven, and No Dynamics singer Vanessa Fischer. They worked their way up through low-key shows played in sweaty electro clubs, to opening for acts such as You Say Party! We Say Die!, !!! and k-os. The single "You're My Heart" is super catchy, although the lead singer creeps me out with her eyes in the video. But considering the video is filled with creepy imagery of all things biological, and on top of that, knights, witches and robots, I guess the crazy eyes were kind of called for.
