Despite many mixed reviews by critics of their most recent album It's Blitz, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs continue to impress me, so as far as I'm concerned, the critics can suck it. I think that an artist or a band should try new styles, whether it seems more mainstream or pop to others or not. The music video for their most recent single "Heads Will Roll", one of my favourite tracks off It's Blitz, is visually brilliant, somehow combining crazed dancing, werewolves and glitter as blood. They may have traded guitar for synthesizer and have gained more mainstream appeal, but, as featured in their most recent music video for "Heads Will Roll", the band and front woman Karen O is still as fierce and strange as ever.
Not to mention, of course, the video pays tribute to Michael Jackson even before his untimely death.
