This is really nothing of consequence, as it is a teaser trailer, but it's exciting nonetheless. The teaser trailer for Under Great Northern White Lights, the film which documents the White Stripes tour across Canada, was released earlier this week. The film will premier at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, as filmed by Emmett Malloy, an American music video and documentary veteran, during their 2007 cross-Canada tour. The documentary follows the band as they play shows in unconventional tour stops like Whitehorse, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Charlottetown. According to Jack White, it was a childhood fantasy of his to tour Canada in its entirety, which gives me hope that Canada is starting to be recognized as a country filled with incredible musical talent and appreciation.
