Art or Ego?

I am all for musicians using all media to express themselves, whether it be lyrically, musically or visually, but..I'm just not sure where this lies. Lady Gaga recently released her new video/mini-film for her newest single "Paparazzi" and I'm not sure if it's artistic, self-indulgent or a commentary on popular culture. I want to think that it's the latter, since it tries to portray how the public views celebrities in some way, but I'm not really sure if that sentiment can be following entirely throughout the video. I applaud her for taking so many risks which are both questionable and inspiring, I'm just not entirely sure how I feel about her newest expression of creativity in the music video for "Paparazzi". But love her or hate her, you have to respect her for attempting to push boundaries musically and more often noted, fashionably, and for making many want to follow her crazy, weird, tea-cup holding footsteps.
